An early 1940s Universal "Compax", rare horn lug design chronograph, silver two-tone Roman dial. The horn lug case is unique and striking, a rarity even for Universal, which produces many chronographs. The dial design is a rare combination of dots for 1 to 11 o'clock and 12 o'clock in roman numeral and with a rare silver-tone Roman numeral, which gives the dial a wonderful ageing effect.?It is equipped with a three-register chronograph movement Cal. 283, a rarity in the 40s.
