Rolex, very rare "Prince Imperial" pocket watch, manufactured in 1945,?powered by Cal. 850 a unique movement from the 1930s with a "Protecting Escapement" design. Designed to cover the balance wheel with bridges, as the name implies, it is a superbly crafted movement, chronometer-corrected, 18-jeweled, and adjusted in six positions, and was used in Rolex's legendary world time pocket-watch. The engraving "CHRONOMETRE REGLAGE de PRECISION CERTIFIE par BULLETIN OFFICIEL SUISSE CLASS-A" on the back of the watch confirms its status as an official Swiss precision standard at the time of its creation, which was valid from the 1930s to the 1940s. The combination case with a rose gold turned bezel and silver dial with appliqu?d Roman and square hour markers and baton hands are reminiscent of the bubble back design of the same era, which is as rare as it is well preserved It's a wonderful and true gem.
