A very rare pocket watch chronograph from the 1940s, manufactured by Eberhard, featuring the renowned Cal. 16 ligne movement. This is a beautiful piece with a silver multi-scale dial.
Pocket watch chronographs are almost never seen from Eberhard, a company known primarily for producing wristwatch chronographs. The Cal. 16 ligne movement it houses uses a coaxial button with the crown to start, stop, and reset the chronograph. What appears to be a button at the 2 o’clock position is actually a sliding mechanism unique to Eberhard—sliding it to the left stops the chronograph while it is running, and sliding it to the right restarts it.
Compared to their wristwatch chronographs, examples like this are extremely rare. Not only is this watch highly scarce, but it also boasts outstanding design and condition, making it a true collector’s item.
