Mido, Cal.800C, FB, water-resistant, rectangular, rare black mirrored dial, circa 1940s. This model is equipped with Cal.800C, an oval-shaped movement equipped with an anti-seismic device. It is one of the rare vintage watches with earthquake resistant and water proof function, using FB's side-slide type water proof case which was also used by Patek Philippe and Movado in the same period. The dial is not gilt, but a black mirror dial printed with fine pink particles, and the luminescent paint that has changed with age and texture is a gem of a wonderful vintage taste. This is a rare black mirror dial for a sideslide waterproof watch, which is often seen with colorful dials such as gray or pink.
