This is a 1940's Alpina Water Proof Chronograph with the famous Valjoux 23, a popular snail design.
The dial is a wonderful dial design unique to the 40s, with silver mirror circles and a snail tachymeter, and the screw back water resistant case is of a moderate size and massive construction. It is a high-grade gem.
