This is an extremely rare chronometer from Omega, manufactured in 1941 — a waterproof 1st-generation Ref. 2254.
It is a valuable first-generation model produced for only a few short years, from 1941 until 1943, when the “Rg” chronometer specification appeared.
It is equipped with the Cal. 30SCT2SC, based on the 30 mm caliber but upgraded for chronometer use with modifications such as a special ratchet wheel and crown wheel. Two versions exist: the Ref. 2254 with a screw-back case and center seconds, and the Ref. 2194 with a snap-back case and small seconds. This piece is the Ref. 2254, featuring a heavy, robust screw-back waterproof case and elegant stepped lugs that enhance its sense of quality.
Additionally, with its engraved caseback and arched “CHRONOMETRE” dial, it represents an especially rare early type within the already scarce first-generation chronometers. To further elevate its rarity, this example bears the desirable double-signed markings of Türler, the long-established Swiss jeweler that originally retailed it—making this a historically important and highly coveted piece.
