This is an early 1930's manufacture Universal Watch Genève "Monopulsanti" one push chronograph with Cal.16 line in 18k yellow gold 40mm original black snailed dial. This is a very rare one push = Monopulsanti chronograph with the large Cal.16 line movement manufactured before the Comper series." The black snailed dial with its intricate and complex design, marked "UNIVERSAL WATCH GENEVE," and the hinged 40mm oversized case made of 18kt yellow gold, are all indicative of the era in which this chronograph was made. It is a gem with high documentary value as the first chronograph of Universal, which produced many masterpieces.
The original black dial with white lettering and orthodox case design are very rare, as many chronographs with 16 lines have white porcelain dials and flexible lug cases. The 9 o'clock dial with the same bullet index design as the dial is also very attractive.
