Manufactured in the mid-1940s, this is a Universal Genève stainless steel 35mm round model, fitted with Cal. 263, featuring a beautiful silver two-tone unique dial.
Unlike the chronographs for which Universal is best known, this rare piece houses the three-hand Cal. 263 movement. The silver two-tone dial, accented with blued steel hands, is superbly designed with a seconds track around the outer edge and Roman numerals combined with dot indexes arranged in excellent balance toward the center.
Together with the original purple steel hands without tails and the relatively large 35mm case—unusual for a three-hand model—it presents a distinctive and striking appearance. Both the dial, which shows virtually no signs of aging, and the unpolished case remain in outstanding condition. The watch is also accompanied by a vintage strap and buckle, believed to be original to the period, making this a true collector’s item.
