Manufactured in 1938, this Patek Philippe Ref. 130 chronograph is a beautiful example featuring a silver Roman-numeral dial and an 18K yellow gold case.
A hallmark of Patek Philippe’s chronograph lineage, it is equipped with Cal. 13 — a movement based on the renowned Valjoux Cal. 23, which Patek extensively refined to the brand’s highest standards. Approximately 1,500 pieces were produced between the 1930s and 1960s.
The silver dial, finished with full inlay work, uses gold for all of its indexes. The elegant combination of Roman numerals and baton hands gives it a modern aesthetic that transcends its era. The 18K yellow gold case, featuring the signature concave bezel of Ref. 130, measures 33mm in diameter with a 20mm lug width, achieving an exquisite balance that feels more substantial than its size suggests. Its level of craftsmanship surpasses that of many other brands from the same period, making it one of Patek Philippe’s defining vintage chronographs.
It comes with the original buckle and archive papers. This piece is also a rare double-signed model from ASTRUA TORINO, a historic Italian watch retailer founded in 1860.
