This is a description of a mid-1940s Universal Compax SS 37mm popular waterproof case, a rare 3-register chronograph. This precious 3-register chronograph showcases the unique design of the era, combining jump numerals with baton hands through mirror printing, as well as the mechanical expression characteristic of a 3-register chronograph. Among chronographs of the same era with waterproof functionality, such as the Omega and Lemania 27CHRO12 at 35mm and the Movado 95 at 33mm to 35mm, the oversized 37mm model is unique to Universal. The dustproof 37mm screw-back waterproof case gives it an overwhelming presence. It is equipped with the renowned Universal Cal.285, a flagship movement used in many chronographs from the 1930s to the 1960s.
