This is an extremely rare first model of a JARDUR Bezelmeter chronograph, made in the 1940s, featuring the Valjoux 71 movement in a 38mm stainless steel waterproof case. The chronograph, with its unique and unparalleled design, was specifically engineered for pilots. It combines a countdown rotating bezel with a multi-scale dial, enabling the measurement of flight time and GMT functions, making it a true pilot's chronograph. At the time, only Breitling and JARDUR offered models with such functions, and the innovative design born from these special features can be described as the epitome of functional beauty.
This particular piece is an early model of the Bezelmeter series, equipped with the Valjoux 71 movement and big pushers, housed in a snap-back waterproof case, which is highly favored by collectors. The black gilt dial has aged beautifully, with the letters turning into a deep gold color over time, adding to the allure of this exceptional item. Additionally, the engraved case back and the W triangle on the 30-minute totalizer, found in the earliest Bezelmeter models, further enhance the rarity of this piece.
