A beautiful and extremely rare chronograph from the 1930s, marked "JAEGER" and equipped with the Universal Genève Cal. 281 movement. Housed in a 31mm Staybrite case, it features a stunning black gilt multi-scale snail dial.
The chronograph movement is the Cal. 281, made by Universal Genève. The dial is a magnificent complication piece, featuring a tachymeter, telemeter, and snail-style tachymeter—all rendered in an intricate and complex multi-scale design using the gilt technique.
The Staybrite case, with its distinctive lugs, measures a modest 31mm, yet offers a substantial presence. Combined with the highly detailed complication dial, it exudes a richly condensed vintage charm, making it a precious and remarkable piece.
Overall, the preservation condition is excellent. The rare complication dial retains a glossy black mirror finish across its surface.
