This is an extremely rare 1923 Patek Philippe “Gondolo” in 18k yellow gold with a yellow dial and distinctive dolphin numerals, in excellent condition.
The watch features a wide rectangular case—believed to be the prototype for the later Ref. 5109—classified among the modern watches known as Gondolo. It is equipped with a round movement featuring a beautiful grain-finished surface and a split bridge, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship.
Uncommon for its time, the yellow-colored dial boasts an outstanding design, combining roulette-style dolphin numerals with spade hands. The pairing of the yellow gold case and yellow dial—often referred to as “yellow on yellow”—creates a rich, era-evoking aesthetic.
This is one of the early wristwatches from the “pre-reference” era, when reference numbers were not yet assigned in the archives. The case back is engraved with both the case number and movement number, exemplifying the care and attention given to each individual piece during that time.
