Manufactured in the 1940s, this Rolex Prince is a rare “Aerodynamic” model in 18K rose gold, featuring a pink Roman dial and preserved in excellent condition.
The case, which thickens gradually from the 6 o’clock side to the 12 o’clock side, is distinctive and sometimes referred to as “asymmetric.” Unlike most Prince models, which are almost exclusively fitted with small seconds, this piece is notable for its rare center seconds layout positioned toward the 12 o’clock side of the dial, setting it apart as one of the most unique and unconventional variations within the Prince line.
The dial, with its “jumping” Roman numerals and triangular center-seconds motif, showcases superb Art Deco styling that shares design elements with Bubble Backs of the same era. The combination of the pink-colored dial and rose gold case—often referred to as “pink on pink”—offers a stunning color harmony, making this an exceptionally rare and remarkable piece.
Its state of preservation is outstanding: the dial retains a vivid and beautiful tone, while the case has maintained its distinctive and characteristic shape.
