Manufactured in the 1940s, Longines masterpiece “Weems” with Cal.10L, stainless steel, 34mm mid-size model — an exceptionally rare U.S. Navy Submarine School graduation commemorative piece.
This watch was presented to the top graduate of the U.S. Navy Submarine School by a charitable foundation established by former naval officer Lawrence York Spear. The dial bears the printed “dolphin” emblem, known as the insignia of the Navy Submarine Force, while the caseback is engraved with the recipient’s initials, the date, and the words “U.S. Submarine School Spear Foundation Prize.”
The dial features a rare two-tone design for a mid-size Weems, and together with the signature wide bezel and solid case construction unique to the Weems, it offers a dense, refined aesthetic. This is a super-rare piece, virtually never seen on the market or even at auction.
