Late 1930s International Watch Company Rectangular model, equipped with the renowned Cal.87, featuring a highly rare champlevé dial.
This dial type, almost never seen in International watches but occasionally found in Rolex Prince and Omega models of the same era, is an exceptional rarity. Aside from the logo and the "SWISS" inscription, the entire dial is executed in champlevé. Furthermore, unlike the typical vertical & horizontal finishing, this example features a two-tone circle & horizontal finish, which makes the piece even more extraordinary.
The beautifully Art Deco–styled dial pairs perfectly with the rectangular case, which measures 22mm in width, 38mm in length, and 18mm between the lugs — a well-balanced size that is not too small. Powering the watch is International’s iconic rectangular movement, the celebrated Cal.87.
