Manufactured in 1954, Patek Philippe Ref.2526 in 18K yellow gold, featuring a rare tropical “dimple dial.”
This model was produced using porcelain dials, developed to prevent deterioration caused by humidity and the effects of sunlight, allowing the dial to retain its beautiful color permanently. Production spanned from the early 1950s through the early 1960s.
This particular example is the highly sought-after early tropical version, known as the “dimple dial,” where the holes drilled into the dial to set the indexes create a distinctive dimpled appearance.
The heavy 18K screw-back waterproof case houses Patek Philippe’s very first in-house automatic movement, the Cal.12-600AT, making it a quintessential vintage Patek Philippe masterpiece.
Condition is excellent—the dial, case, and movement have been superbly preserved, remaining close to their original state at the time of sale. It is accompanied by what appears to be its original leather strap and buckle, as well as the Extract from the Archives.
