Manufactured in the early 1970s, this is the Patek Philippe Calatrava, the celebrated Ref.96, fitted with the final movement Cal.27AM400, nicknamed “Amag.”
The dial design combines bullet indexes with dauphine hands for a simple yet refined aesthetic, while the Calatrava case features a beautifully flat bezel and Calatrava crown. It is powered by the final movement Cal.27AM400, equipped with anti-magnetic and shock-resistant properties as well as a Gyromax balance, representing the perfected form of the legendary Ref.96 that had been produced continuously since the 1930s.
Although showing minor scratches and signs of aging, it retains a natural charm. It comes with what appears to be its original period leather strap and buckle, marking it as a superb one-owner example.
This is a double-signed model retailed by YARD, a long-established New York jeweler. The caseback bears an engraving. An Extract from the Archives is currently under application.
