Manufactured in the 1940s, this Movado is a rare “Calendomatic” in stainless steel, 35mm, featuring a bumper automatic movement and a beautifully preserved two-tone dial with a vivid three-color design.
Unlike most calendar models of the period that were hand-wound, this example is equipped with the automatic Cal.225 movement. The dial features a silver two-tone base with a blue pointer date hand, a red minute rail track, and black numerals printed along the track — a colorful and highly detailed three-color design. The applied Arabic numerals and alpha hands further showcase the meticulous craftsmanship.
Although it measures a moderate 35mm, the sharply contrasted two-tone, three-color dial gives it a sense of visual density and refinement, while the weight and presence unique to automatic movements evoke the feel of a smaller 33mm watch.
The watch remains in excellent overall condition with an unpolished case, and it comes with its original buckle and box — truly a collector’s piece. Additionally, the rare Italian-language calendar further enhances its uniqueness and collectability.
