This is a late-1960s Breitling masterpiece, the “Navitimer” 2nd Generation, in an extremely rare 18k yellow-gold configuration. Among the many case variations seen on the Navitimer—such as stainless steel and gold-filled—this piece is exceptionally unusual for its solid 18k yellow-gold case.

The hefty oversized 40mm solid-gold case and the “big-eye” design with larger-than-usual sub-dials give it an impressive presence. It is equipped with the renowned Venus Cal.178TJ, a celebrated movement produced by Venus, a company that supplied chronograph calibers to many brands.

It also comes with a valuable original gold-filled buckle. The dial is a rare example featuring a silver-printed double-wing logo, an uncommon variation on the already scarce gilt dial with gold lettering.
