This is a stainless-steel, water-resistant chronograph manufactured in the 1960s, fitted with the Vintan–Landeron Cal. 248. It features a screw-back waterproof case with a screw-down crown—an uncommon specification for this period—and is powered by the Landeron Cal. 248, produced by Landeron, a company renowned for its chronograph movements.
The black dial with a printed airplane motif shows beautifully aged luminous material, and when combined with the robust, heavy case, it presents an outstanding aesthetic reminiscent of a true military watch. The watch is accompanied by a highly valuable original guarantee dated 1968—issued by A. Cairelli Roma, the retailer known for supplying military watches by brands such as Universal and Zenith—which includes the reference and serial number.
The Cal. 248 features a distinctive operating system: the pusher at 2 o’clock controls start and restart, while the pusher at 4 o’clock controls stop and reset.
