Late 1960s production Eterna Cal.1489K-powered Eterna-Matic “Contiki Super,” a rare 40mm diver’s watch.

It is equipped with the in-house automatic movement Cal.1489K, which features a ball-bearing rotor system and a quick-change calendar function (first crown position for time adjustment, second position for instantaneous date change).

The substantial 40mm screw-back waterproof case has a strong presence and, uncommon for the era, adopts a screw-down crown. The richly executed black gilt dial with its compact and distinctive design showcases a level of craftsmanship and originality that surpasses many other diver’s watches of the same period. Owing to its high level of practicality and durability, this model was also adopted by the Israel Defense Forces.

It comes with the rare original bracelet made by Gay Frères (fits wrists up to 19.5 cm).
