Manufactured in the early 1940s, the Rolex Oyster “Chronometer” Ref. 2574 is a rare example featuring a flat bezel design and a two-tone arch dial.
This is a rare piece fitted with an early Oyster case incorporating the seldom-seen flat bezel specification of the period. At first glance, the dial appears simple in design; however, it displays refined details appreciated by connoisseurs, including the arched “ROLEX OYSTER” signature, a rail-track minute scale, a small seconds subdial, and a double-signed dial bearing the name of the British watch and jewelry retailer The Alex Clark, also known from Bubbleback models.
The flat bezel Oyster case retains its valuable mid-size crown and, despite its modest 29mm diameter, possesses a presence that exceeds its dimensions. The beautifully aged patina further enhances its outstanding vintage character.
