Manufactured in the early 1940s, this stainless steel cylinder chronograph by Omega is powered by the Cal. 28.9CHRO and features a two-tone dial with rare applied indexes.
Among models equipped with the 28.9CHRO or 33.3CHRO—most of which commonly feature printed or luminous indexes—this is a rare piece distinguished by its embossed applied numeral indexes. The applied Arabic numerals in a charming vintage “jumping numeral” style, the understated silver two-tone dial, the compact and concentrated feel unique to the 28.9CHRO, and the solid presence characteristic of the cylinder case all combine to create a rugged aesthetic distinct from more flamboyant multi-color dials.
It is fitted with the Cal. 28.9CHRO, a downsized evolution—reduced by two sizes—of Omega’s legendary Cal. 33.3CHRO.
