A late-1950s Rolex Oyster Chronograph Ref. 6234 “Pre-Daytona” with a silver small-eye dial, presented in excellent condition.
This is a highly valuable Oyster chronograph produced prior to Ref. 6238, commonly referred to as a “Pre-Daytona.” Unlike the sunburst silver dials seen in later years, this example features a plain-finished silver dial. It is distinguished by tachymeter and telemeter scales on the outer track, wedge-shaped hour markers, and alpha hands—hallmarks of the period’s design.
The “small-eye” configuration, with its relatively smaller sub-dials, gives this watch a unique expression among the wide variety of Pre-Daytona dial variations, making it a particularly distinctive piece.
It comes fitted with a U.S.-made Rolex rivet bracelet (suitable for wrist sizes up to 18 cm).
