Circa 1950, this Zenith “Chronometer” model powered by the renowned Cal.135 is an exceptionally rare and beautiful example of the 1st generation in 18K yellow gold.
It houses a very early and highly valuable version of the Cal.135, featuring gold plating. While most Cal.135 models are commonly found in steel cases, this piece is distinguished by its rare solid 18K yellow gold case, making it an especially scarce and highly desirable collector’s item among vintage watches equipped with this essential movement.
Furthermore, the watch’s excellent state of preservation enhances its rarity, with a high-quality silver dial featuring applied numerals that show little sign of aging, as well as an 18K yellow gold case that retains its characteristic shape.
Most Cal.135 examples were produced after 1954 and fall within the 4.2 million serial range; pieces from around 1950, such as this one with a 3.87 million serial number, are extremely հազ rare to encounter on the market.
It also comes with its valuable original vintage strap.
