Late 1930s production, an Omega equipped with the Cal. 26.5—an extremely rare 18K yellow gold model featuring a stepped bezel, Art Deco design, and a yellow two-tone dial.
While steel models are more commonly seen, this piece stands out even among solid gold examples of the era for its particularly rare use of 18K yellow gold. The dial showcases a beautiful sector design known as a “hachimaki,” and the 30mm stepped bezel enhances its compact, refined aesthetic. The combination of a yellow gold case and yellow-toned dial—often referred to as “yellow on yellow”—perfectly captures the period’s distinctive character and offers a remarkable, harmonious color palette.
It is powered by the hand-wound Cal. 26.5 SOB movement, which was widely used in many Omega manual-wind models throughout the 1930s. Additionally, the presence of the rarely seen double signature “Galli-Zurich” further elevates the rarity and collectability of this exceptional timepiece.
