A late-1960s Rolex Oyster “Speedking” featuring the popular black gilt dial.
First introduced in the 1930s, the Speedking is one of the longest-produced models among Rolex’s many “pet name” lines. Over the decades, it has appeared with distinctive designs characteristic of each era—such as sector dials in the 1930s, unique dial variations in the 1940s, and engraved dials in the 1950s.
This particular example, produced in the 1960s, features a black gilt dial where the “ROLEX,” “SPEEDKING,” “PRECISION,” and “T SWISS T” markings are all executed using the gilt printing technique. The simple black dial, combined with bar indexes and baton hands, reflects the style of the period and offers an excellent vintage aesthetic.
With its well-balanced 30mm case—suitable for both men and women—and its original bracelet (fits wrists up to 18 cm), it is also highly recommended as an everyday vintage watch that can be worn year-round.
