This is an early-1940s Rolex Oyster Royal featuring the highly sought-after “England dial.”
This rare dial type, known among collectors as the “England dial,” can also be found on Bubbleback and Flatback models from the same era. Its distinctive construction features embossed indexes and an embossed outer railroad minute track throughout, giving the dial a remarkable sense of depth and texture.
The matte white dial combines pink-colored indexes and railroad track markings with pink leaf hands, resulting in a design that is simple yet full of character and charm. The beautifully aged patina further enhances its rich vintage atmosphere, making this a particularly attractive example.
The watch is also fitted with a rare oversized “Big Crown” and comes with a period Cromwell expansion straight bracelet, suitable for wrist sizes up to approximately 18.5 cm, allowing the wearer to fully appreciate the authentic style and feel of the era.
