Manufactured in the 1950s, this is an exceptionally rare "TECHNICUM CANTONAL BIENNE" school pocket watch. The Technicum Cantonal was a highly respected Swiss institution for the training of watchmakers and horological engineers, and examples are known ranging from three-hand wristwatches fitted with movements such as the Peseux 260 and IWC Cal. 83 to various pocket watches.
This particular watch is powered by a movement based on a Moeris caliber, enhanced with high-grade finishing including beveled edges, a swan-neck regulator, and a pink-gilt plating treatment. The watch was produced as a graduation commemorative piece, featuring an official school medal inlaid into the case back.
The dial is a beautifully executed two-tone design, combining elegant Breguet numerals with blued-steel Breguet hands.
