Manufactured in the early 1940s, this is a beautiful example of the Rolex Oyster Speedking in stainless steel, featuring a pink semi-unique dial in outstanding condition.
The Speedking was produced from the 1930s through the 1960s, with its design evolving significantly over the decades. This watch is fitted with the highly sought-after semi-unique dial, a style also seen on Bubbleback models of the same era. The dial retains its original pink tone with remarkable vibrancy, reflecting its exceptional state of preservation.
Further enhancing its period charm are the blued-steel Mercedes hands and the Oyster case equipped with the distinctive "Phantom" crown, both hallmarks of Speedking models from this era. Together, these features give the watch the unmistakable character that makes early 1940s Speedkings so desirable.
The watch is fitted with a later U.S.-made Rolex bracelet, suitable for wrists up to 18.5 cm (approximately 7.3 inches).
A particularly unusual detail is the presence of quotation marks (" ") on both sides of the model name on the dial—a rare and highly collectible variation.
