Manufactured in the mid-1940s, this Universal Genève is powered by the Cal. 265 and features a square case with an early dustproof construction and a rare applied Arabic numeral dial.

Unlike the chronographs for which Universal Genève is best known, this watch is fitted with the uncommon center-seconds Cal. 265 movement. The case employs an early dustproof design, similar to those found on contemporary Omega and Jaeger-LeCoultre models, in which the movement is housed and removed from the caseback side. The dial is equally impressive, featuring a rare three-dimensional layout with applied Arabic numerals complemented by applied dot and baton indexes. Although modest in size and elegant in appearance, this dress watch exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that distinguish vintage Universal Genève timepieces.
