1940s Mido "Multifort" FB Waterproof Rectangular Black gilt dial S.Steel w/Bracelet

A 1940s Mido “Multifort,” featuring the popular FB-made side-slide waterproof rectangular case and a beautiful black gilt dial. The watch uses a side-slide rectangular waterproof case of the type also adopted by Patek Philippe and Movado. The dial features a pink base with a black gilt finish, a white enamel circle, and luminous Arabic numerals. “MIDO,” “MULTIFORT,” and “MADE IN SWITZERLAND” are all rendered using gilt techniques, resulting in a truly exceptional dial. Despite its modest dimensions of 23mm in case width and 32mm in maximum case length, it retains the substantial presence characteristic of FB cases. Combined with the elaborately finished dial, it has an impressive presence that far exceeds its size. The watch is accompanied by a vintage bamboo bracelet that perfectly complements the timepiece. It is a remarkable piece with an outstanding vintage character. Powering the watch is Mido’s Cal. 800C, equipped with an anti-shock system.
