Manufactured in the mid-1950s, this fine Zenith chronometer in stainless steel is powered by the legendary Caliber 135 and features a rare black dial. The watch houses the Caliber 135, one of Zenith’s most celebrated hand-wound chronometer movements. Beyond the rarity of its black dial, the watch is remarkable for its exceptional state of preservation. The black gilt dial retains its beautiful iridescent, oil-slick-like patina across the entire surface, while the stainless steel case preserves crisp, sharp edges throughout, with no apparent signs of polishing. Among the Caliber 135 examples handled in the past, this is undoubtedly one of the finest. A later original Zenith buckle accompanies the watch.
