Early 1940s Eterna Cal. 970, Staybrite 32mm, Silver Two-Tone Dial — Rare “Birdia” Hour Hands, Untouched Condition
This is a rare and completely untouched Eterna from the early 1940s, featuring the Cal. 970 movement, a 32mm Staybrite case, and a beautiful silver two-tone dial with the highly unusual “Birdia” hour hands.
The combination of the two-tone dial with Birdia hour hands, also seen on contemporary Omega models, the distinctive long-lug Staybrite case, and the rare mid-size Cal. 970 movement makes this an exceptional Eterna with both outstanding design and remarkably well-preserved condition. Eterna examples from this period are more commonly found with simple luminous Arabic numeral dials, making this particular configuration especially unusual.
As with Rolex, Eterna is a brand for which non-waterproof models are actually rarer than waterproof models, adding further interest and rarity to this example.
