Manufactured in the mid-1960s, this fine International Watch Company timepiece is an automatic date model powered by the Caliber 8531, featuring a waterproof case and a highly desirable silver dial with classic baton-style indices.
The waterproof case features the long-lug design occasionally seen on International models from the 1950s through the 1960s. Measuring 35mm in diameter with a 20mm lug width, it offers exceptionally well-balanced proportions, while the substantial case profile characteristic of an automatic movement gives the watch an appealing presence on the wrist.
The silver dial features applied, non-embossed bullet-shaped hour markers paired with elegant dauphine hands, creating a timeless and well-balanced design that will never feel dated. The calendar aperture, positioned relatively close to the center of the dial—a distinctive characteristic of Cal. 8531 models—also gives the watch its unique appearance.
The dial remains remarkably free of visible signs of aging, while the unpolished case further demonstrates its excellent state of preservation. This highly collectible example is accompanied by its original box, a period tag bearing the serial number, and a vintage strap with buckle.
This is the final version of the model, following the transition from the earlier one-piece waterproof case to the snap-back waterproof case.
