Manufactured in the 1940s, this fine Movado Ref. 19033 chronograph is an exceptionally rare stainless steel model featuring the renowned Cal. 90M movement, an oversized 37mm case, and a distinctive stepped design.
Oversized cases measuring over 37mm are rarely encountered in Movado watches from this period, making this a particularly desirable example. The dial features a clean, uncluttered design without a tachymeter or other scales, combining embossed Arabic numerals with baton hands. The generously proportioned case gives the watch a commanding presence, while the unusually centrally positioned subsidiary dials create a distinctive and highly original appearance.
The watch is powered by the celebrated Cal. 90M, one of Movado's signature chronograph movements. Adding to its appeal is the rare double-signed dial bearing the name of TURLER, the renowned Swiss retailer, together with the original TURLER-issued guarantee certificate dated 1944 and bearing the case serial number.
With its outstanding state of preservation and exceptional provenance, this is a highly collectible vintage chronograph.
