Manufactured in the early 1940s, this rare Rolex Oyster Imperial Chronometer Ref.2574 features an attractive flat-bezel design, a popular Big Arabic numeral dial, and an elegant arched dial layout.nnThis is a rare example of an early Oyster case fitted with a flat bezel, a configuration occasionally seen in watches from this period. At first glance, the dial appears simple, yet it reveals a wealth of appealing details that will delight vintage watch enthusiasts. These include the arched “ROLEX OYSTER” signature, a finely executed railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds register, and the distinctive Big Arabic numerals also familiar from Rolex Bubbleback models.nnDespite its relatively modest 29mm case diameter, the combination of the mid-position crown, flat-bezel Oyster case, and Big Arabic numeral dial gives this watch a remarkably strong presence on the wrist. The dial has developed a beautiful, characterful patina over time, lending the watch an exceptional vintage charm.nnIt is accompanied by a Kreco expansion straight-link bracelet, suitable for wrists measuring up to 18.5cm.
