1940s Lemania Cal.15TL stainless steel 38mm stepped bezel, a very rare water-resistant chronograph black snail dial with a screw-back case with a stepped bezel, a rarity among Cal.15TL watches. It is also a rare early water-resistant case with number engraved on the back cover and lugs, which is a rare quality among water-resistant cases. The dial is a very rare example of an intricate and complex snail design, which is rarely seen on non-waterproof models of Omega, Tissot, and Lemania of the same era. Also, it is a very rare example of a water-resistant model with an overwhelming presence that differs from the non-waterproof models. It has a dial and case design common to Omega and Tissot of the same generation, a chronograph made in-house by Lemania that was also supplied to Omega and Tissot, and a Cal. 2310 that would become the base movement for the Cal. 27-70CH that would later be used in the Patek Philippe perpetual calendar, Ref.3970, etc., and other high-design, high-quality watches. The Lemania chronographs are renowned for their quality and reputation as a mechanical manufacturer year after year.
