Cronometro Perret by Longines, Chronometer, pocket watch, Cal. 21.54 powered, circa 1912. A chronometer pocket watch manufactured by Longines in 1912 for the Argentine jeweler Perrette. The ingenious chronometer movement, Cal. 21.54, with its large mechanical covering, uses a huge bimetallic cut balance and a receiving stone, each part of which is bevelled and beautifully finished. The metal hinged case has a double back cover, with the unique number of the machine engraved on the outer and inner covers, the last two digits of the unique number (25) on the middle case, and the last four digits (4,025) on the bezel. There is an engraving indicating that the watch was made for Carlos Perret at that time and that it won five awards at a watch exposition. The dial is a rouletted big Roman with blued steel spade hands for excellent legibility, and the porcelain dial that never fades is a precious gem that shows the aspect of the times. It is rare to find a watch with the manufacturer's name not on the dial but on the inner cover. It comes with a copy of the Longines archives.
