Audemars Piguet, pocket watc, minute repeater function, retailed by the Swiss jeweler Gubler, circa 1911.
This is a rare early type of minute repeater using the sliding case patented by Audemars Piguet in 1913. The minute repeater function is activated by sliding the coin edging on the side of the case. The thickness of the case is only 7mm, which is very thin for a Minute Repeater. The archival copy issued by Audemars Piguet shows that the watch was sold in 1914 in Gubland, and it describes in detail the material of the dial (14k gold), the shape of the indexes and hands, the Gubland name, and the fact that it is a pocket watch with a minute repeater function. A copy of the patent is also included in this collector's item.
