Manufactured in the 1950s, this is a Mido “Multifort” Powerwind equipped with the Cal. 917P full-rotor automatic movement. It is a waterproof model featuring a rare grey two-tone dial.
The Multifort line, produced from the 1930s through the 1970s, is one of Mido’s signature masterpieces, known for its wide variety of models, including manual-wind and automatic movements, round and rectangular cases.
This particular piece features a streamlined screw-back waterproof case that carries the design lineage of the FB (François Borgel) cases and houses the full-rotor automatic Cal. 917P, which includes a shock-resistance mechanism.
The dial showcases an outstanding design with a grey base and cross-patterned two-tone finish. The wedge indices and dauphine hands reflect the style of the era.
It also retains the highly rare original plastic crystal.
