Manufactured in the 1940s, this is an exceptionally rare unused example of the CYMA / TAVANNES “Water Sports”, featuring a stainless steel case and a two-tone dial. While there is some aging and minor surface marks from long-term storage, it remains a highly valuable unused piece, complete with its original period strap and original buckle.
At first glance, the silver dial appears simple, yet the addition of a pink minute (railroad) track gives it a well-defined, compact, and highly balanced design. The screw-back waterproof case, equipped with an inner dust cover, bears the engravings “Waterproof,” “Non magnetic,” and “Shock-absorber” on the case back, reflecting the robust construction befitting the “Water Sports” name.
Further enhancing its appeal is the high level of quality, including an in-house movement finished with Côtes de Genève and beautifully executed beveling. Although CYMA and TAVANNES models are more commonly found sold under a single brand name, this piece is a rare double-signed example, making it particularly noteworthy.
