Manufactured in the 1940s, this is a rare Jaeger-LeCoultre rectangular waterproof model equipped with the Cal. 413, featuring a clip-on case and a black “Big 12” dial. It is a valuable early rectangular model that adopts a clip-on, airtight rectangular waterproof case—also seen in contemporary Omega models of the same era.
At first glance, the dial appears to be a standard full Arabic numeral design; however, the 12 o’clock index is larger than the others, and the railroad minute track is intentionally interrupted at the 12 o’clock position. This results in a superb Art Deco design on a rare black dial. The beautifully aged patina, combined with the substantial rectangular waterproof case, creates an outstanding vintage presence.
The watch is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house rectangular movement, Cal. 413.
